Action Against Hunger has been at the forefront of the global fight to end hunger for over 40 years. They wanted to strengthen their paid digital programme, but needed support to stay ahead of trends, and build their team’s confidence to lead the work themselves.

We worked together on a digital mobilisation strategy focused on three goals: growing their list, converting new supporters into donors, and increasing regular giving.

Rather than simply delivering the strategy, we acted as a strategic partner, collaborating closely with the team, sharing data insights, suggesting creative ideas, and drawing on best practice from across the sector.

Step 1. Researching and auditing

We started by diving into Action Against Hunger’s existing digital efforts, combining an in-depth audit with research on the wider digital fundraising landscape. This helped us uncover growth opportunities and set ambitious goals.

Step 2. Strategy setting

Together with Action Against Hunger, we ran a collaborative workshop to define priorities, align on goals, and craft a data-driven strategy built around their objectives. The result? A detailed strategy document and actionable roadmap to guide implementation.

Step 3. Quarterly plans and testing framework

We got stuck in to delivering the plan with clear testing and optimisation goals for each quarter. We began to discover what worked (and what didn’t) through testing messaging, creative, platforms and audience, and scaled up the best performers to drive results.

Step 4. Agile weekly support

Weekly calls with Action Against Hunger’s Fundraising and Advocacy teams allowed us to respond to real-time opportunities, troubleshoot challenges, and shift focus as needed. This cross-team collaboration ensured the strategy stayed dynamic and effective to hit all goals.
